Key takeaway

California privacy compliance is moving faster than most teams can track. CCPA World helps with structured enforcement data and implementation analysis.

Hello CCPA World!

I’m starting this site and enforcement tracker because I feel that the CCPA and its enforcement have been poorly understood and overshadowed by other privacy regulations such as the TCPA. This is especially important just two months away from CalPrivacy’s DROP system going live and related changes to the enforcement environment. I feel that contextualizing the actions of the regulators is crucial when formulating a practical response to comply with the laws, as well as articulating to decision makers on the fence that CCPA compliance is increasingly important and worth investing in.

With over two decades of data engineering experience I expect to contribute more than just factual summaries of enforcement actions, but to also be able to add crucial details assisting professionals implementing practical solutions for CCPA compliance. Understanding what has happened, what has been announced, and what the potential bottlenecks and edge cases are in practice should benefit a number of readers in compliance, legal, technical, and executive roles.

Please enjoy the comprehensive database of CCPA enforcement actions to date!
